30-Minute Nutella Souffle {Recipe}

By April 06, 2016 ,

Nutella is love, Nutella is life. I truly believe that Nutella brings happiness. The classic hazelnut spread has gone leaps and bounds beyond its humble origin and is now not just every household staple, but in every cafe and patisserie. Everybody just cannot get enough of Nutella!

On a cold and gloomy night like this, I crave for something sweet after dinner. Looking at my pantry, I could only think of a souffle with its creamy, liquid centre. With a quarter jar of Nutella left, I set out to create my perfect winter warmer - nutella souffle.

This recipe is easy to whip up and uses simple pantry staples, which makes for a great impromptu dessert idea. When the smell of Nutella fills the house and kitchen, you know it's almost ready. The souffle is just perfect if it jiggles a little when you take it out of the oven. Dig a spoon into the souffle and the hot, thick and creamy Nutella lava should be oozing out.

Try it out, you will not regret it!

30-Minute Nutella Souffle

Serves 2

Ingredients
1/2 cup Nutella
2 eggs (Separated)
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
Unsalted butter
Cocoa powder

Method
Preheat the oven to 375F/ 190C

Butter two souffle ramekins and sprinkle with cocoa powder, knocking out the excess.

In a medium bowl, mix Nutella and two egg yolks.

In a separate medium bowl, whisk two egg whites until foam starts to form. Add cream of tartar. Continue mixing and gradually add sugar. Keep mixing until the egg whites hold stiff peaks.

Fold 1/3 of the egg whites into the Nutella mixture until fully incorporated. Add the remaining egg whites to the mixture and fold gently, but thoroughly until the mixture is smooth.

Pour the mixture into the ramekins. Clean the rims so the souffle rises evenly, and bake for 15-17 minutes.

Serve immediately. Sprinkle icing sugar on top or serve with fresh cream on the side.
